Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated October 3, 2026 · version 2026-10-03-draft

DRAFT: lawyer review pending. This text is a working draft, not legal advice, and is not final. Bracketed items are placeholders.

SignalHaul places calls on your behalf, through your own telephony account. These rules protect the people you call, your numbers and the service. Breaking them can get a workspace suspended.

Calling

  • Scrub for Do-Not-Call. Check numbers against the National Do-Not-Call Registry and the state lists that apply, and against your own internal do-not-call list, before you call. Owner-operators are often sole proprietors on a personal cell phone, and regulators can treat such numbers as residential. Mark anyone who asks you to stop as Do not call, and do not call them again.
  • Respect calling hours. Federal rules limit telephone solicitation to 8 AM to 9 PM in the called party's local time. Some states are stricter (for example Florida and Oklahoma limit it to 8 PM and also cap how often you may call). The product holds calls outside 8 AM to 9 PM in the carrier's local time, closes the window at 8 PM for carriers in Florida, Oklahoma and Maryland, and holds a fourth call to the same Florida or Oklahoma number within 24 hours. These guards are a safeguard, not legal advice, and may not cover every state or rule; the stricter rule that applies to you is your responsibility.
  • Be honest about who is calling. Do not spoof or hide your caller ID, and do not misstate who you are or what you offer.
  • Manual calls only. The softphone is for a person placing one call at a time. Do not use it for autodialing, prerecorded or artificial-voice messages, or text messages unless you have the consent the law requires.
  • Keep call frequency reasonable. Rest numbers that are being flagged as spam instead of switching to new ones to avoid blocking.

Recording

Recording is off until you turn it on, and both sides hear a recording notice. Many states, including California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Washington, require every party's consent to record, and the list changes. You are responsible for knowing the rules that apply to each call, for stopping a recording when someone objects, and for keeping and deleting recordings lawfully.

Data

  • Use FMCSA and carrier data only to offer legitimate dispatch services, not to harass, stalk or discriminate.
  • Do not upload data you are not allowed to hold, and keep W-9s, signatures and other carrier documents confidential.

The service

  • No attempts to break, overload or get around limits, and no scraping or reselling of the service or its data.
  • No unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive use, including misleading carriers about fees or the agreement you send them.

Enforcement

We may remove content, limit features or suspend a workspace that appears to break these rules or the law, and we may cooperate with regulators and carriers' complaints. Report abuse to support@signalhaul.com.
